Job description:
We're a fast-growing commercial electrical contractor looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our in-office team. You'll play a critical role in our growth — pricing work accurately, winning bids, and setting our project teams up for success from day one.
What You'll Do
- Perform full electrical takeoffs and bid preparation using software
- Analyze project plans, specs, and scopes to develop accurate, competitive estimates
- Source and negotiate pricing with vendors and suppliers
- Coordinate bid handoffs to project management, ensuring a smooth transition from estimate to execution
- Communicate with general contractors, clients, and internal teams throughout the bid process
- Track bid results and maintain organized estimate documentation
- Stay current on material pricing, labor rates, and market conditions
What You Need
- 3+ years of electrical estimating experience in commercial construction
- Hands-on proficiency with estimating software
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, NEC standards, and construction documents
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Effective communicator — comfortable working with clients, GCs, and field teams
- Field experience as an electrician is a plus
